Apartment and unit moves in Hunters Hill

The peninsula is not all sandstone: about a third of its addresses are units, most of them gathered at Huntleys Cove and the foreshore pockets. An apartment move is a different job with the same rule: settle the access first, then the day is easy.

What we settle before the day

  • The lift booking. Most buildings want the move booked with management and the lift padded. We arrange it and confirm it back to you.
  • The loading area. Where the truck actually stands: dock, visitor bay or street, and the walk from there to the lift.
  • The building's move rules. Hours, protection requirements, common-area care. Keeping them keeps you square with the building.
  • The big pieces. The sofa that came in through the balcony has a way of needing to leave the same way. Better known on Tuesday.

The honest shape of an apartment move

Two movers and one truck handle most 1 to 2 bedroom units, $250 an hour, and the hours are decided less by the rooms than by the distance from door to truck. A unit beside the lift on the dock level moves in nearly half the time of the same unit three lifts and a courtyard away. That is not a complaint, it is a planning fact, and it is why we ask about the building before we talk about the furniture.

Moving between a unit and a house, in either direction, mixes the two methods: building rules at one end, garden carry and floor protection at the other. We plan both ends separately and brief the crew on each.
